Sol-gel Preparation of Silan based Zirconia Hybrid Thin Film

The sol-gel process is an innovative advanced method, initially developed to synthesize glass and ceramics at low temperature. Sol-gel can be used synthesis materials with a variety of shapes, such as porous membranes, thin fibers, nano-size powders films. In this study, epoxy methacrylate based silane coupling agents are together zirconium oxide form hybrid coating system on surface. the experimental organic–inorganic molecular compound was prepared by method. First glasses were cleaned traditional piranha solution (3:1 H2SO4 : H2O2) remove contaminants. Silanization applied increase adhesion coatings substrates. Glass substrate coated homemade dip-coater. (3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, GLYMO 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate, TMSPM) chosen silane. Zirconia inorganic component materails. Coated samples characterized Fouirer Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) Contact Angle Goniometer.
